Company Introduction:
New World (China) Technology & Media Co. Ltd is wholly owned by Hong Kong New World Group. As one of the pioneers in the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), the company is dedicated to investment, R&D, installation and operation in this field. NWT&M has developed the Digital Bus Stop (DBS) system which is based on the demands of public transportation. The System has been evaluated and approved by experts from The Traffic and Transportation System Academy of China, the Ministry of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Construction of China. Its main functions and performance index are world class. DBS applies series of technologies to ensure the accuracy and the stability of the system. For instance, in addition to DSRC, the system utilizes the GPS. This combination provides the extra accuracy of bus arrival forecast. The system is multi-functional. It has the following main functionalities: Multi-language Real-time bus arrival forecast, Voice Guidance for Visually Impaired, Wireless Video Surveillance, General Information Notification and other extendable functions such as Emergency Alarm and Information Inquiry The system has been installed in Beijing since August 2004, as well as in Shanghai Pudong since July 2005. Its stability, accuracy, richness of information, user-friendly design, and multifunction have received very positive feedbacks from passengers, the local public transportation authorities and Public Security Bureau The experts regard it as a crucial product system to enable public service in a digitized city. With the first round investment of RMB 1.5 billion, NWT&M plans to install and operate the DBS system in Beijing, Shanghai and other selected big cities in China. In the meantime, the company is exploring the new possibilities of using private capital in urban infrastructure construction and management.
